SENIOR SOUS CHEF

Job Description

As Senior Sous Chef you will be the deputy to the Head Chef, you will ensure that prep is completed and support in the running of the kitchen. You will be responsible for supporting the Head Chef with the day to day running of the kitchen, as well as stocks and management of the kitchen team. Our successful Senior Sous Chef must be hands on and lead by example demonstrating the ability to support the Head Chef with motivating a team. You will train and develop the team, ensure high standards ensuring all events run smoothly.

This role would also be suitable for a Sous Chef looking for a step up and more responsibility.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Previous experience in a similar role

Be flexible and adaptable in your approach to work

Strong passion for food and for customer satisfaction

Possess excellent organisational and leadership skills

Be reliable and punctual

To liaise with Head Chef regarding the choice, standard and presentation of dishes offered ensuring that menus meet with changing customer requirements

To assist the Head Chef in training, coaching, service and motivate staff in all aspects of the kitchen operation

Ensure the kitchen and associated areas operate within the food hygiene legal requirements

To monitor standards and maintain records in accordance with specifications

To be proactive in identifying potential hazards and shortfalls and ensure due diligence at all times to prevent exposure to risks

To ensure kitchen staff maintain the highest personal standards of appearance and presentation
