This exciting client facing Enablement Consultant role at the center of the Global Commercial Services (GCS) growth strategy will play a pivotal role in the on-going development and deployment of strategies focused on maximizing GCS client spend opportunities. The successful candidate will be responsible for client enablement strategy, promoting best practice across the organization, and leading a team of highly motivated enablement specialists. This individual will act as a key advisor and liaison between internal partners including Sales, Account Development, and Implementation, plus play a key role in developing relationships with the American Express Merchant Services group to maximize commercial payments program effectiveness for new and existing clients.

It is a high visibility role with a remit across several International markets in Continental Europe, UK and APAC

Core Responsibilities
  • Develop and deploy strategies to effectively onboard and quickly ramp up Global and Large client opportunities utilizing the suite of American Express commercial payment solutions
  • Lead a team of enablement specialists across International markets responsible for supporting our strategic clients in a broad range of tasks associated with the successful initial ramp up and ongoing expansion of GCS accounts
  • Work with clients to design enablement strategies and effectively communicate to suppliers the value proposition of American Express payment solutions
  • Oversee enablement plans and work with Sales, Account Development, Implementation and Merchant Services teams, to ensure projects are executed in an efficient and effective way
  • Act as a liaison between GCS and Merchant Services teams to drive supplier enablement
  • Develop and maintain metrics to help monitor the success of enablement initiatives
  • Collaborate with other GCS teams to identify areas for improvement, product enhancements or servicing opportunities
  • Identify and effectively communicate best practice methodologies
  • Be an active thought leader who will contribute to the evolution of the GCS business

  • Significant experience in financial services consulting and account management
  • University/College graduate or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
  • Ability to network through complex organizational structures to uncover product and process improvement opportunities
  • Strong probing skills, communication skills, presentation skills and an ability to deliver a compelling message as an expert in the payments industry
  • Strong leadership skills including managing multiple projects / resources concurrently
  • An ability to maintain composure handling customer issues with a strong focus on quality service delivery
  • Proven ability to quickly learn complex products and systems
  • Commercial payments experience/knowledge in payment industry is an asset
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, C-level exposure an asset
  • Problem solving and the ability to adapt quickly as customer needs and requirements shift
  • Exceptional collaborative and influencing skills
