About the role:

We're looking for an experienced Engineer to join the team and help us make a difference. As an Engineer at TotallyMoney, you'll join us to help build, maintain, and take ownership of our app offerings, specifically on our front-end stack. You will have proven commercial experience developing for the web with React, and ideally for mobile with React Native.

We operate in small, cross-functional teams, usually comprising engineers, designers, UX people and a product manager. We loosely follow Agile processes, with boards, stand-ups and stories etc., however we tend to release continually as opposed to in sprints. We follow good XP practices like TDD, BDD, integration testing, continuous integration and so on.

Our Tech stack:

  • Web development with JavaScript (ES5 - 11), TypeScript, React, Redux
  • Back-ends in Node with Express, Koa, Next.js
  • Dev-ops with AWS, Nginx, Docker
  • Integration using CircleCI, Jenkins, TeamCity
  • Mobile development with React Native, Fastlane, Gradle, Objective-C, Java, Android SDK, CodePush
  • Back-end stack development opportunities (.NET, F#, Node/Serverless)
  • An interest in functional programming
  • More bullet-point lists
  • That this particular list constantly changes over time

About you:

  • You'll have a healthy interest in all kinds of tech, will want to release code every day, and be enthusiastic about adopting new technologies
  • You'll be methodical and analytical in your approach to work
  • You will want to go fast and will not fear responsibility or failure, have a strong desire to learn, develop every day, and to continue to try out new things
  • You'll be dedicated to experimenting, innovating and keeping up to date with technical tech trends in order to provide our customers with the best experience possible, and using a variety of tools and technologies to help achieve that
Ideally you'll have:
  • In-depth knowledge and experience with vanilla JavaScript (ES6/7+) and React
  • Experience with Node development
  • Experience writing tests
  • Experience with continuous Integration
  • Familiarity with the command line
  • Familiarity with Semantic HTML5, CSS3, CSS-in-JS, Responsive Web Design
  • Experience integrating with RESTful backend services
  • Experience with version control systems such as Git
  • Experience converting designs from Sketch/Figma into HTML/CSS
