About the role
Here at Babcock International we're looking to recruit a Project Manager (Planning & Consenting).
Major Infrastructure Projects (MIP) is a business unit within the Naval Nuclear Division of Babcock International Group, which is responsible for the safe, secure and successful delivery of a wide range of exciting infrastructure projects. The business continues to be awarded new work and grow at a significant rate and, as a result, MIP is currently recruiting for a dynamic, enthusiastic and motivated individual to lead our Planning and Consenting team.
You'll support the delivery of infrastructure projects across Devonport Royal Dockyard via a balance of on-site and remote working.
Main Purpose of Role:
You'll be responsible for leading all (non-nuclear/radiological) planning and consenting activities across MIP's portfolio.
This will involve:
* Developing scopes, schedules and estimates for all planning and consenting activities.
* Liaison with the Project Teams and provision of planning and consenting advice and guidance.
* Acting as a point of contact for internal and external stakeholders for planning and consenting related issues.
* Establishing planning and consenting strategies.
* Delivering works required to support the required planning permissions, licenses, permits and authorisations.
* Preparing scopes of work for subcontractors for planning and consenting activities, and evaluating tender responses.
What do I need to do the role?
You'll need a Degree in a relevant discipline (or demonstrable career based knowledge and experience equivalence) and Membership of a relevant professional organisation such as the Royal Town Planning Institute or Institute of Environmental Sciences.
Would also like you to hold experience in the following:
* Must have demonstrable experience of planning and consenting
* Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Must be able to work autonomously
What else do I need to know?
* The successful candidate must be able to achieve the appropriate security clearance level for this role.
