Job Description

One to One SEMH Teaching Assistant Required in Kent - Immediate/November Start

I am currently recruiting for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to support a student in Year 2 on a one to one basis who has Social Emotional and Mental Health needs, the role will involve working within and outside the classroom and following a bespoke timetable as directed by the school. Experience of the TEACH approach and Nurture are highly desirable due to the nature of the role.

Hourly Rate: Minimum £15 per hour (depending on experience)

Location: Kent (Birchington)

Duration: Ongoing

Start Date: November (Immediate)

Contract: Monday - Friday (9am - 12pm or 10am - 1pm)

The successful applicants will have:

  • Experience of working with or caring for children of a relevant age (Primary - Key Stage 1)
  • Previous experience working with vulnerable individuals or SEN (ideally SEMH)
  • Excellent Behaviour Management skills
  • A calm, patient manner and ability to react positively to a fast-changing environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with students, staff and parents/careers
  • Ability to competently use a computer and the Internet (Word, Excel & PowerPoint)
  • An Enhanced Child or Child & Adult Workforce barred list DBS Certificate registered on the update service
