Position Overview: The Occupational Therapist (OT) will be an integral member of our rehabilitation team, responsible for assessing, planning, and implementing occupational therapy interventions. Our OTs help residents develop, recover, improve, and maintain the skills needed for daily living and working. This role demands a professional who is compassionate, innovative, and dedicated to fostering independence in our residents through personalized therapeutic techniques and approaches.
Key Responsibilities: - Conduct patient assessments to determine their needs, abilities, and goals.
- Develop individualized treatment plans focused on functional independence and activities of daily living (ADLs).
- Implement therapeutic interventions to improve residents' quality of life, focusing on mobility, strength, coordination, and cognitive skills.
- Evaluate and document patients' progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary.
- Work closely with the healthcare team to provide a comprehensive care approach.
- Educate residents and their families on home adaptations, assistive devices, and strategies to promote independence.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and participating in professional societies.
Qualifications: - Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Current Alabama state license as an Occupational Therapist.
- Experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care facility is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
