Job Description


The Material Planner will be responsible for planning material requirements and scheduling materials to support Manufacturing and Program requirements. Other responsibilities will include analyzing data and supplying material status to the organization and partnering with the Supervisor to work cross-functionally. No direct supervisory responsibilities but the Material Planner will be required to direct workflow through written and verbal communication.

Essential Functions:

* Distribute production schedules or work orders to departments.
* Review documents, such as production schedules, work orders, or staffing tables, to determine personnel or materials requirements or material priorities.
* Requisition and maintain inventories of materials or supplies necessary to meet production demands.
* Arrange for delivery, assembly, or distribution of supplies or parts to expedite flow of materials and meet production schedules.


* Bachelor's Degree in Operations/Business or equivalent experience required.
* 1-3 years of Material Planning or Receiving inspection/Stockroom or Production Control or Operations Supervision or Manufacturing Engineering experience required.
* Must understand Material Requirements Planning and the interrelationships of Configuration, Manufacturing, Quality and Procurement & Materials concepts in the Electronics Industry.
* Strong Excel skills are required, strong analytical skills, and the ability to handle multiple projects are also a must.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment are also important.
* Supply Chain Management experience preferred.
* Logistics and packaging experience also a plus.

Preferred Additional Skills:

* Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
* Observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources
* Analyzing information and evaluating results to choose the best solution and solve problems
* Providing information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person.
* Monitoring and reviewing information from materials, events, or the environment, to detect or assess problems.
