Job Description

We are a fast growing accountancy practice based in Hull, due to our wide range of service offering we are now looking to recruit a new role in the business to further enhance our management accounts division.

We are looking for an individual that has the drive to develop the division and grow with our business. The role is a senior role in the practice industry.

Due to our in house staff experience/capabilities, we are able to offer more hybrid services to our clients and we have found that clients are keen to take more control over their finances and understand their business in more detail to make more informed strategic decisions.

To achieve this you will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Management account preparation (Monthly and Quarterly)
  • Producing reports/packs ready for client meetings
  • Understand analytical reviews and KPI reporting
  • Liaising with stakeholders of all types of job roles within our client base
  • Cash flow forecasting / Profit and loss forecasting
  • Budget support together with the client
  • Debtors and creditors management (maintaining tidy ledgers)
  • Invoice finance management (reconciliations / audit management)
  • Manage the data entry and ensure its accurately entered and reconciled
  • General primary support for clients needing reasonably quick turnarounds on queries

A part time applicant is capable of achieving the above requirements (at least 3 or 4 days per week), however as the division grows we would need flexibility and more time from that individual.

So would need to discuss more time/availability in the future.

A full time applicant will take a hybrid role initially in the business, this involves primarily meeting the management accounts responsibilities first. Then, subsequently in your spare time they would act as a senior accountant and will support the senior management with the following responsibilities:

  • Review accounts and prepare feedback for semi seniors
  • Produce complex accounts to final stage for partner sign off
  • Finalise accounts with clients and prepare accounts for filing
  • Personal tax experience useful but not mandatory
  • Billing responsibility

General requirements:

  • Must be a qualified accountant or qualified by experience in the senior position (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
  • Proficient Excel skills mandatory
  • Experience with standard accounts (Sage, Xero, Quickbooks, SAPA, Tax Calc) packages ideal but not mandatory
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Self sufficient, manage own workflow and is proactive
  • Flexible approach to problem solving and in some cases client requests

The role will not have staff management responsibility to begin with, you will have some support from our accounting team and book-keepers to do the heavy day to day workloads, in some cases you may need to do some of the cover work for them if necessary.

No requirement to prepare timesheets

If you possess these skills and are looking to advance your career as a Management Accountant, we encourage you to apply.
