Job Description

My client is looking for a seasoned, senior Developer who has extensive experience across Object Oriented languages. You will work within a small team, with responsibility for developing solutions with business teams. You will be working in a hands on Development role but will also need to be comfortable with design and architecture deliverables. A part of your role will be recommending solutions and the technologies best to support them.

The role:

  • Work with technical BA's to execute on data management and reporting projects for the business.
  • Work with internal resources as well as application vendors to establish the appropriate development approach and timeline.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders and build relationships on a continuous basis.
  • Assist with the analysis of Middle Office platform processes and capabilities and the ongoing development of a technology strategy.
  • Identify best practices for optimizing system use both internally and externally.
  • Implement and manage source control and release automation processes.
  • Participating in the design and creation of scalable software.
  • Writing clean, functional code on the front- and Back End.
  • Testing and fixing bugs or other coding issues and participating in QA testing.

Skills:

  • 8+ years industry full cycle experience of SDLC methodologies and approaches, including refining business requirements and defining functional specifications.
  • Experience with VBA, .NET/Java, Python.
  • Quant experience preferred.
  • Strong SQL skills are essential.
  • Excellent conceptualization, analytical, and logic skills enabling comprehension and development of complex technical and business issues, topics, and plans.
  • Experience with ADF, Talend or other ETL tool is preferred.
  • Excellent communications skills, with the ability to work with business users as well as other members of the technical staff.
