Client Details

As the new Health & Safety Advisor you will be working within a large, UK based organisation on a permanent basis. Candidates who have a background within Manufacturing, Aggregates, Heavy Industry or similar would be most suitable to this vacancy but other applicants will also be considered.

Description

As the Health & Safety Advisor you will report directly to the Operations Manager based at the Huddersfield site with the responsibility of providing professional HSE advice to all employees across the manufacturing site.

Duties Include

  • Maintain and update all relevant HSE systems including all relevant legislation's.
  • Support the Operations Manager with developing and maintaining systems and procedures to achieve all accredited external and Group standards appropriate for the operations.
  • Inspire and challenge the workforce to deliver results and continuously stretch personal performance and skills.
  • Challenges and supports all levels of manufacturing management in developing and implementing HSE management systems to ensure the business regulatory standards
  • Assist with the investigation of incidents and accidents to establish root cause and preventive actions.
  • Update internal records with regards to incidents, near misses and accidents.
  • Collate and produce safety report and communicate at all levels of the organisation.
  • Organise and lead health and safety meetings including safety talks
  • Undertake projects and information gathering to establish hazards and level of risk within each department.
  • Facilitate incident investigations, including identification of immediate and root causes and the generation of suitable actions
  • Undertake regular audits and inspections to determine compliance with H&S legislative requirements.

Profile

To apply for this position you will hold a NEBOSH National Certificate in Occupational or equivalent and IOSH membership. You will possess extensive relevant health & safety advisory experience, along with an excellent track record for managing leading and lagging health & safety metrics to improve health & safety performance.

You will possess the following skills and knowledge:

  • Thorough knowledge of relevant H&S legislation
  • Competent risk assessor
  • Understanding of safety culture development
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Sound understanding of business management systems including relevant Standards
  • Excellent engagement skills
  • Good knowledge of core IT systems

Job Offer

£25,000 to £35,000, Days Based Monday to Friday.
