We have had an exciting opportunity released to join our Consumer Healthcare company at a pivotal time within company growth. This position will give the successful candidate the chance to work within an enterprising and high visibility role within the team.

As a Global Category Manager, you will have the chance to work on high priority, exclusive projects where you'll work closely with internal and external senior stakeholders. This position is covering APAC, EU and US where you'll be responsible for buying and supporting global manufacturing within GSK.

The position also gives future scope for line management responsibilities should you wish to go down that path.

Your responsibilities
This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career, these responsibilities include some of the following...
  • Lead the development, management and execution of comprehensive strategies on a global, regional or local basis that deliver the business requirements across assurance of supply, quality, service, cost and innovation.
  • Negotiates contracts with suppliers that secure favorable terms for procurement of goods and services contracts in line with the agreed business requirements.
  • Lead strategic relationships with critical suppliers providing secure and cost-effective sources for relevant commodities.
  • Build strategic relationships with GSK stakeholders, to understand business requirements, identify opportunities to create value and to position Procurement's value proposition. Align sourcing strategies accordingly.
  • Researches, evaluates and selects suppliers, manage the supply base for the categories within scope through a robust performance management process. Ensure supplier performance is understood and measured.
  • Contract planning, negotiation, execution, interpretation and maintenance; supports the negotiation process, maintains contracts and relationships.


Why you? Basic Qualifications:
We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:
  • Educated to BSc level or equivalent within a related discipline
  • Procurement experience across multiple categories of spend particularly with respect to developing & implementing strategies, stakeholder management and supplier relationship management and some experience of regulated environments.
  • Good ability to manage sensitive partnerships, strong influencing and stakeholder partnering skills coupled with excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Good understanding of Procurement tools such as sourcing, quotation analysis, contract negotiation, supplier review, supplier development and others
  • Good Ability to motivate and inspire colleagues, and work in partnership with others to drive, implement and support change.
  • Good knowledge of finance (cost benchmark & financial audit with key supplier) and legal matters (contracting).
  • Demonstrated experience in managing global/ regional projects.
  • Good experience in negotiation and contracting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills - fluent English.
  • Experience on Risk management.


    Preferred Qualifications:
    If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:
    • Advanced education within relevant field such as MBA
    • Previous/ current experience working within a consumer healthcare or pharmaceutical setting
    • Experience in managing clients/ suppliers on an international level
