As part of the Regional Turbine Centre, you will be a Mobile Service Technician, providing professional hands-on, engine repair work onsite to meet customer requirements to ensure the highest level of customer service is achieved.
To travel within the UK or overseas when required to support customer requirements on average 50%.
Technical Knowledge/Qualifications
- Recognised Engineering Apprenticeship and/or Licensed Aircraft Engineer
- 5 years' experience in aviation industry
- Familiarisation with Gas Turbine Engines
- Aged over 21 (aviation authority requirement)
- Total quality principles, attention to detail and high level of concentration
- Valid Passport (minimum 6 months validity) for overseas travel
Key Responsibilities
Production duties including Field Service work - Strip engines, modules or components in line with engineering instructions
- Carry out basic cleaning of components
- Inspect relevant components and identify items for scrap, rework or refit with reference to and interpretation of relevant production information and Original Engine Manufacturer (OEM) manuals in accordance with Company Procedures and Quality Manual
- Ensure all items required for rebuilding are to the required specifications and are available in line with agreed turn time targets
- Build engines, modules or components to defined standard ensuring fits & clearances and modification standards are accurate
- Prepare rebuilt unit for testing
- Where applicable, set up engine, test and ensure all agreed checks are actioned
- Carry out final checks on completed unit ensuring all paperwork is appropriately stamped
- Utilise IT systems as appropriate
- Respond to field trip requests when requested
