JOB TITLE: Cook
RESPONSIBLE TO: HOME MANAGER
MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB:
To produce homemade nutritious balanced meals suitable for the residents.
To maintain the kitchen and equipment in accordance with health and
To ensure that there are adequate supplies of food in stock
HOURS ON DUTY: 7:30 am to 3:00 pm 5 days per week (Monday to Friday)
Cook breakfast for residents
To prepare and cook two choices of homemade dinners and desserts for lunch. In addition, prepare residents’ evening meal
To record temperatures of all fridges and freezers and cooked food daily and log on the Safer Food – Better Business diary
To ensure adequate stocks of frozen, dry and perishable food items are maintained and stored correctly.
Ensure kitchen hygiene is maintained at all times and cupboards, work surfaces and cooking equipment/utensils are cleaned each day.
To supervise kitchen assistant on a daily basis and ensure that tasks are completed, i.e. bins, work surfaces, fridges, window sills, floors, cleaning of steriliser and cupboards.
