Job Description

We re working with an established, growing Marketing Agency in Brighton, in search of a new Content Marketing Manager to join their team.

This is a varied and creative role for someone with a mix of expertise and experience across both social media management and copywriting - strong content creation is key!

Introduction:

Your role is an exciting one for our client. Having been producing quality content for their clients in their marketing material for many years, you will play an important role planning, creating and optimising quality content.

Day to day tasks:

Content strategy for existing and potential / new clients.

  • Write content marketing strategies and content marketing plans for clients, that you then implement and manage
  • Identifying client objectives
  • Devising a strategy and plan that delivers against the objectives (preparing and making client presentations on the approaches and results required)
  • Creating content (interviewing clients, transcribing conversations, organising content, telling the story)
  • Distribution of content
  • Monitoring and reviewing
  • Optimising (create the content their audience is looking for and then to optimise conversion)

Account management functions:

  • Receiving creative briefs, challenging client s thoughts and identifying client objectives, often by running (or contributing to running) workshops
  • Building strong relationships with stakeholders, winning their trust and confidence
  • Day to day client liaison and customer reporting
  • Staying up to date and sharing with the team the latest digital trends so that they can enhance the offering to customers
  • Line managing content co-ordinator - undertaking reviews, providing support and training that will help to maximise success
  • Leading project kick-offs with the wider creative team
  • Briefing freelancers / external partners
  • Managing project timings and budgets

Analytics:

  • Monitoring and reviewing the success of campaigns across channels using a range of tools (experience with Google Analytics, Hootsuite, SEM Rush, etc)
  • Feeding back results to optimise the service we provide to our clients
  • Optimising content you create
  • Improving outcomes
  • Coordinating SEO activities such as optimising web content and keyword strategy to increase rankings

Content support for existing clients:

Generating, writing, editing content for marketing collateral e.g. brochures (printed and digital), websites, social media, white papers, articles, emails, videos / animations, presentations. This will involve undertaking interviews with a range of stakeholders, including c-suite level personnel working within global organisations.

Proof reading:

Checking and proof-reading creative content before it goes to clients.

Copywriting:

Supporting their existing copywriting contractors with any copywriting and copy editing.

The role involves:

Analytics and SEO:

  • Experience running website reports on Google Analytics (knowledge of Google Analytics 4 would be particularly beneficial) and ability to provide recommendations to clients of the back of this data
  • Experience running social media reports (such as by utilising Hootsuite or associated tools) and ability to provide recommendations to clients of the back of this data
  • Knowledge of paid advertising would also be useful, along with the ability to interpret reports and make recommendations in relation to its results
  • An understanding of SEO for both their own marketing and advising and recommending SEO strategies to clients including an understanding of SEM Rush (and/ or associated tools) and Google analytics

Email:

Being proficient in creating content on email broadcast engines such as as Mail Chimp, if used by clients.

Social Media:

  • An understanding of utilising the key social channels that the agency or clients use such as Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, Pinterest etc
  • Paid advertising experience would be beneficial

Being a Team Player:

  • Contributing to planning meetings and supporting your work colleagues when appropriate
  • Contribute to pitches and new business opportunities, and identify potential new projects with existing clients
