We’d love you to have previous experience of working in a kitchen as a Kitchen Porter/Assistant, Trainee or Commis Chef and have the drive and ambition to further develop your skills working with fresh food.
Previous Chef experience is preferred but not essential as more importantly you’ll have a passion and knowledge about the food, a positive and cheerful attitude and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
The successful candidate will be committed to assist the Chef de Partie in daily preparation and service of food ensuring that the highest standards are maintained at all times.
Commis Chefs should be eligible to live and work in the UK.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
To ensure that food is prepared and presented to the highest standards
To produce food as directed by the Chef de Partie and to present it at the times required
To be fully conversant with all menus, in particular items which are the responsibility of your section and of their recipes and quantities
To maintain the appropriate amount of stock levels as directed by Chef de Partie
Excellent customer service skills
Possess the ability to work under pressure and have strong organisational skills
Display a polite and professional attitude to internal and external guests
Preparing and cooking food under instruction
Learning the skills to ensure food is ready and presentable
Embrace our “Teamwork” philosophy with other members of staff
Responsible for helping keep areas in the kitchen clean, tidy, and stocked ready for service
