BID MANAGER
Salary circa £32K + BONUS
KINGSTON-ON-THAMES

About the role:
To support the Business Development team by writing clear, concise, powerful and innovative bids and proposals. The aim is to provide support to management solutions, products and services across a broad range of industries and sectors. To support BDM/AM's to retain/expand company client contracts.

Main responsibilities:

  • Ensure company strategy to win the business is clearly articulated in a timely, professional manner that always reflects the company values and mission philosophy
  • To support the business development function on a day to day basis to help the team reach targets
  • To write, review and edit sales content, to produce written bid responses and presentation collateral in line with deadlines
  • Support the development of content for pre-qualification, RFI's and tender responses which are bespoke to the target
  • To put together pricing proposals for prospects as and when required
  • Support the bid management process and development of each tender opportunity
  • Develop and maintain the bid library to ensure we have accurate information on the core areas for bid responses, ensuring this is updated as processes, technology and information develops
  • Evaluating and identifying areas for improvement from tender and bid feedback
  • Set deadlines for sales bid content and information to be received and manage these deadlines, communicating accordingly
  • Set and achieve tender deadlines by organising others effectively
  • Work collaboratively with a wide-ranging departments and colleagues across the business to deliver effectively on each tender bid
  • Ensure all documents are free from errors and professionally represent the business
  • Help support/share ideas with the BDM's in their creation of high quality proposals, bids and presentations
  • To create and execute high quality bid responses to framework and OJEU opportunities;
  • Manage the co-ordination of all framework tender processes to ensure the smooth operation of the department
  • Respond to prospects and colleagues via appropriate channels such as the telephone or email

Candidate requirements:

  • Good working knowledge of MS Packages
  • Knowledge of sales environment/processes
  • Relationship development skills to establish rapport with internal colleagues and external prospects
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to produce accurate work to tight deadlines
  • Ability to communicate clearly in writing and comfortable dealing with internal and external people on the telephone
  • High level of Customer Care and quality service
  • Time management and work prioritisation
  • Problem solving ability
  • Good administration skills
  • Data/Information Analysis/comfortable with numbers
