Administration Support Assistant

Location: City of London (close to Bank tube and Liverpool Street station)

Salary: £16,000 - £20,000 per annum, depending on experience

Our client is the UK's independent voluntary regulator of interpreters working in the public services. They are a not-for-profit organisation and uphold standards in interpreting by maintaining a register of professional, qualified and accountable interpreters.

The organisation is currently seeking an Administration Support Assistant to assist in the administration of the registration processes for the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Filing registration applications
  • Scanning documents and ensuring that electronic files are uploaded on to the network and accessible via the database
  • Sorting incoming and outgoing post
  • Requesting and returning original documents
  • Assisting with maintaining the organisation's databases (i.e. inputting/updating of data)
  • Assisting Registration Officers with processing registration applications
  • Dealing with general registration queries (correspondence and telephone work)
  • Carry out office administration and routines and any essential work required, when necessary

Personal Specification

  • Effective and confident communication skills
  • Organisational and prioritising skills
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office programmes: especially Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Good grasp of English grammar and syntax for correspondence and telephone
  • Awareness of financial implications of actions
  • Accuracy and eye for detail
  • Commitment to providing high quality customer service
  • Discretion (in view of considerable amount of confidential information involved)
  • Ability to perform the role of a good ambassador for the organisation at all times
